The Rijen voor Groninger Museum in Groningen, Netherlands is a collection of three pavilions by Philippe Starck, Alessandro Mendini, Coop Himmelblau. A bridge connects the museum from across a canal and also serves as a pedestrian route for the general city. It has some interesting interior space for contemporary art, from classical to abstract modern art. Many locals haven’t been happy with this eye-catching transformation of the island. It was privately funded by Nederlandse Gasunie and opened in 1994. |
