Braunfels Castle, Braunfels Hesse Germany

Schloss Braunfels was built in the 13th century in Germany’s late Gothic era. Edwin Oppler transformed the castle into its neo-Gothic fairytale appearance in 1880. Baroque and more modern expansions are to be seen atop the hill. Hessian artworks are on display, and historical pieces such as an impressive collection of cannons are in the museum.
