| Gensler and Associates designed the new Ritz Carlton and J.W. Marriott hotels downtown L.A. in the entertainment district. The complex includes a convention center, grand ballroom, and 54 story tower. Together with the Disney Concert Hall and Los Angeles City Hall it will establish an urban fabric that downtown L.A. desperately needs. The transparency of windows (60% max allowed by code) changes according to the program of each room with a large variety of glass types. The multicolored glass gives a movement that reflects the city’s culture. The project is currently under construction and should be finished by next year. |
