Peter B Lewis Building, Case Western University Cleveland

Yes, Frank Gehry can do brick, but don’t push it. The Peter B Lewis Building for the Weatherhead School of Management of Case Western Reserve University opened in 2002.

The interior spaces encourage interaction among students and teachers by placing them on an equal democratic level. Each classroom is custom designed for particular learning techniques and group interaction. Daylighting scheme change the hue as light penetrates into the space, further diversifying the kinds of spaces inside.

The formal arrangement of spaces start with steel towers of important rooms and a canyon atrium inbetween. The gestural steel continues and wraps over the front facade.

The university brick interacts with the flowing steel to create opportunities for growth in business responsibilities of personal management and leadership.
