Carradale House, Poplar London England

Ernö Goldfinger designed this residential tower, and the Balfron Tower and Glenkerry House around it, for Poplar HARCA. The brutalist concrete building typifies the residences with balconies and large windows. The two buildings’ circulation meet in the middle staircase tower, which has narrow slits for windows. The 11 floors open up the street level for greenery, according to LeCorbusier’s ideal.

This influential design was constructed in 1968.
