SOM designed the site of Broadgate Tower (Owings & Merrill and Skidmore) and Bishopsgate Tower (Kohn Pedersen Fox), completed in 2009. The final portion of the £240 million development will be completed in 2012.
The site connects the Liverpool Street station with the financial downtown, so the passageway between the two buildings is celebrated. The structure for this galleria space unifies the buildings’ structures while filling the space with light and nature.
The street-level will have cafés, bars, restaurants, and shops.
