Benesse House Museum, Naoshima

Tadao Ando designed the Benesse Museum in Naoshima Japan, completed in 1995. The facility integrates museum and hotel with four buildings. Art is displayed in the Oval building and Museum. The park contains an additional twenty art pieces.

The art experience includes restaurants, a spa, and stores. The coastline disappears as one enters the building, but a large oval reflecting pool greets the visitor in the Oval building. Plantings hang over the courtyard side and the sky is seen from a new perspective.
