Une Architecture Mobile Art Pavilion, Arab World Institute Paris

The Une Architecture exhibit by Zaha Hadid was on display at the Institut du monde Arabe in Paris France until October 2011. The Chanel Mobile Pavilion moved there in April 2011 after touring around the world since 2008.

The flowing organic form, typical for Hadid, houses architectural models and artistic paintings. The slender black interior structure for the tent weaves in smooth geometric patterns. The building can contort to fit any environment and any interior functional needs.

Hadid approached the project in three stages: discovery, staging, and engaging individual projects in the museum. The traditional Arab emphasis on masculine and feminine inspire the form, with minimal decoration. Karl Lagerfeld commissioned the pavilion for Chanel in 2007.
