Sotobori Building, Hosei University Tokyo

Yamashita Sekkei designed the Sotobori Building for Hosei University in Tokyo, completed in Februrary 2007. It has 8 floors and 21,937m² area.
The building is named after the remains of Edo castle’s large moat. Unlike nearby structure, the Sotobori building runs parallel to this moat. Full glazing on its southern face receives sunlight, while the north face takes on a look that fits in to the campus.

Also pictured, the Boissonade Tower was designed by Yamashita Sekkei in 2000. It rises 27 stories, and has a modern design that can seen reflected in the Sotobori lobby.
