The SM Mall of Asia by Arquitectonica is the second largest mall in the Philippines and the sixth largest in Asia, with 600 stores. Four buildings are connected by walkways with a large globe sculpture in front. The mall and convention center opened in 2006.Notable venues include: IMAX theater, science Discovery center, and convention center. Henry Sy, Sr. started as a shoe salesman in 1946, and built world-class malls with air conditioning and finer merchandise, eventually creating 30 malls across the country.
