Modern Art Museum, Fort Worth Texas

Tadao Ando designed The Modern Museum of Fort Worth, which opened in 2002. It is in the Cultural District near the Kimbell Art Museum.

Five long rectangular bays extend into the water, similarly to the Kimball Museum, with solid concrete providing art viewing space or forty foot glazing proving selected views. Overhead skylights are carefully crafted with sidelight from the windows in mind. Elevated walkways cross through the tall space for ease of circulation. Exterior Y-columns hold up the heavy roof and complex glazing structures add further complexity to the view.
