Lloyds Building, London

Richard Rogers designed the Lloyds Building in London England, completed in 1984. It stands on One Lime Street near the Swiss Re.

Like the Pompidou Centre, service spaces are grouped with structure on the outside, opening up freely arrangeable spaces inside. Three towers surround a rectangular skyscraper which is approached by a barrel-vaulted atrium. Crisscrossing stairs lead to the lower floors and outside lifts lead to upper floors. Car lifts lower automobiles to underground garages.
